It kicks off, Friday June 20 at the Historic BAL Theatre at 7PM. Then it picks up again Saturday June 21, in the Main Library Parking lot at 6:00PM. And finally, Saturday night the last show begins at 8:30 PM at 21st Amendment Brewery. Go to Sanleandro.org/comedyfest for more information.

She was excited to share that the San Leandro Family Aquatic Center officially reopened on Saturday, June 14th. We began the day with a small ribbon-cutting ceremony and facility tour, and by the afternoon, the pool was open for public swimming. To celebrate this long-awaited reopening and thank the community for its patience, the City waived all admission fees for the day. The response was incredible, with over 500 community members coming out to swim on opening day. It was a wonderful reminder of how much this space means to our residents. Families, youth, and neighbors of all ages enjoyed the upgraded facility and a fun, safe place to cool off. We’re looking forward to a great summer ahead at the Aquatic Center.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this reopening possible.

She thanked the community, our dedicated volunteers, and City staff for making this year’s Cherry Festival and Pride Flag Raising Ceremony an incredible success. The day began with a vibrant parade through our downtown, led by the Mayor, City Council, and many wonderful community groups. The celebration continued with the City of San Leandro Page 4

Special thanks to Chief Bowie from Alameda County Fire and the San Leandro Police Department for ensuring a smooth and safe parade route.

We are also grateful to F.H. Dailey Chevrolet for generously providing parade vehicles.

Lastly, a big thank you to our Recreation and Parks Department and the San Leandro Improvement Association for their tireless work in organizing the parade and festival.
