IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO
RESOLUTION NO. 2025-XXX
RESOLUTION TO APPROVE AND AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AMENDMENT NO. 3 TO THE NON-PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH WEST COAST ARBORISTS, INC.
FOR CITYWIDE TREE PRUNING, STUMP REMOVAL, AND ARBORIST SERVICES IN THE AMOUNT OF $458,890 FOR FISCAL YEAR 2025-2026
WHEREAS, the City of Burlingame released a Request for Proposal (RFP) regarding tree pruning, stump removal, and arborist services on May 13, 2021, and on June 3, 2021, proposals were received, evaluated, and ranked based on the selected criteria listed in the RFP; and WHEREAS, West Coast Arborist, Inc. submitted the most qualified proposal; and WHEREAS, San Leandro Municipal Code Section 1-6-305 provides that purchases available through cooperative purchasing with other governmental agencies may be made without competitive bidding; and
WHEREAS, the City Council invokes Municipal Code Section 1-6-305 because it is in the public interest to take advantage of the preferred pricing achieved by the City of Burlingame’s competitive process for arborist services; and
WHEREAS, West Coast Arborist, Inc. has agreed to honor the terms of the City of Burlingame’s 2021 contract through Fiscal Year 2025-2026; and
WHEREAS, the parties desire to amend the agreement to extend the term to June 30, 2026 to complete zone-based maintenance in Council Districts 1 and 2; and WHEREAS, this work supports the establishment of 5-year zone-based maintenance as recommended in the Tree Master Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows:
1. That this amendment to the agreement is approved and execution by the City Manager is authorized; and
2. That the amendment is approved for a sum not to exceed $458,890 for Fiscal Year 2025-2026 for a total contract amount of $1,612,890; and
3. That the City Manager is authorized to take all actions and execute all documents necessary to effect the purpose and intent of this Resolution.
