IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO
RESOLUTION NO. 2025-XXX
RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT AND AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS RELATED TO THE CARNEGIE FOUNDATION 250TH ANNIVERSARY GIFT OF $10,000 FOR FISCAL YEAR 2026 AND TO APPROPRIATE THESE FUNDS FOR THE PURPOSE OF
ENHANCING LIBRARY COLLECTIONS, CULTURAL PROGRAMMING, AND SPECIAL EVENTS WHEREAS, the Carnegie Foundation celebrates the 250th anniversary of our Nation and the signing of the Declaration of Independence; and
WHEREAS, the Carnegie Foundation celebrates the 1,280 original Carnegie libraries still in operation by gifting each library $10,000; and
WHEREAS, the San Leandro Public Library is identified as an original Carnegie Library; and WHEREAS, the Carnegie Foundation gift of $10,000 will be used to further the San Leandro Public Library’s mission by enhancing the San Leandro Public Library’s collections, cultural programming, and special events;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows:
1. That in accordance with Chapter 1.9 of the San Leandro Administrative Code, the City Council accepts, and the City Manager is authorized to execute all documents and shall take all actions necessary related to the Carnegie Foundation Donation for $10,000 to enhance the San Leandro Public Library’s collections, cultural programming, and special events.
2. That an appropriation of the Carnegie Foundation donation of $10,000 in revenue account #010-3803 and expenditure account #010-68-107 (DONATION-CARNEGIE FOUNDATION) is approved.
