IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO
RESOLUTION NO. 2026-XXX
RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT THE KAISER PERMANENTE COMMUNITY HEALTH GRANT AWARD OF $25,000, AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS RELATED TO THE GRANT AWARD, AND APPROPRIATE $25,000 IN THE SPECIAL GRANTS FUND WHEREAS, the Kaiser Permanente’s Community Health Grants provide funding to local organizations to support health and wellbeing efforts; and WHEREAS, the Recreation and Parks Department identified a growing community need to support the food access needs of homebound seniors; and WHEREAS, to address this need, the Recreation and Parks Department developed the Senior Grocery Delivery Program to support the needs of seniors who can no longer pick up their grocery bag at one of the City’s food distribution sites; and
WHEREAS, the project will strengthen the partnership with Kaiser Permanente and local nonprofit organizations that serve seniors; and WHEREAS, this project supports the implementation of the City’s Age-Friendly Action Plan; and WHEREAS, Kaiser Permanente has awarded the Recreation and Parks Department a Community Health Grant in the amount of $25,000 for FY 2027 to support the implementation of the Senior Grocery Delivery Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows:
1. Grant funding from Kaiser Permanente in the amount of $25,000 is hereby accepted;
2. Grant funds in the amount of $25,000 in the Special Grants Fund, Senior Services Program, are hereby appropriated; and
3. The City Manager is authorized to execute all related agreements and documents necessary to proceed with the project implementation.
