IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO
RESOLUTION NO. 2026-XXX
RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT AND APPROPRIATE $40,000 IN ALAMEDA COUNTY AREA AGENCY ON AGING SENIOR CENTER ACTIVITIES SERVICES GRANT FUNDING FOR 2026-2027 AND AUTHORIZE FUTURE GRANT RENEWALS UP TO A CUMULATIVE AMOUNT OF $170,000 WHEREAS, the Alameda County Agency on Aging (AAA) provides funding to support inclusive Senior Center Activities for older adults in Alameda County; and WHEREAS, following a competitive Request for Proposal process, Alameda County issued the City of San Leandro a Notice of Intent to Award Senior Center Activities funding, subject to successful contract negotiations, continued funding, and required County approvals; and WHEREAS, the City anticipates receiving $40,000 for FY 2027 and potential cumulative grant funding of up to $170,000 through the initial agreement and up to three one-year renewals; and WHEREAS, grant funding will expand digital literacy, community events, educational presentations, nutrition access and education, and programming for LGBTQ older adults; and WHEREAS, the Senior Center Activities program supports implementation of the City's AgeFriendly Action Plan by promoting social connection, wellness, independence, and access to community resources.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows:
1. Accept and appropriate $40,000 in Alameda County AAA Senior Center Activities grant funding for FY 2027 to the Special Grants Fund, Senior Services Program; and
2. Authorize the City Manager, or designee, to execute the initial Alameda County Senior Center Activities agreement and up to three one-year renewals, for cumulative grant funding not to exceed $170,000, including related agreements, amendments, and documents necessary to implement the program, subject to available grant funding, applicable City budget appropriations, and approval.
