IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO
RESOLUTION NO. 2026-XXX
RESOLUTION TO APPROVE AND AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AMENDMENT NO. 1
TO NON-PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH NEWTON CONSTRUCTION AND
MANAGEMENT FOR GOLF COURSE CLUBHOUSE EXTERIOR IMPROVEMENTS IN THE AMOUNT OF $79,153 FOR A TOTAL CONTRACT AMOUNT OF $699,189
WHEREAS, the exterior siding on the clubhouse building at the Monarch Bay Golf Course is at the end of its useful life and requires replacement; and
WHEREAS, the project was procured using a cooperative purchasing contract through Sourcewell using a project delivery method called Job Order Contracting (JOC); and WHEREAS, Newton Construction and Management was a responsive bidder to Sourcewell Bid CA-101723 and selected as the contractor for this project; and
WHEREAS, the parties desire to amend the agreement to provide for applicable prevailing wagerelated labor costs and additional work with unanticipated dry rot repair and necessary electrical upgrades; and
WHEREAS, City Council is familiar with the contents of Amendment No. 1 and finds its terms acceptable; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends approval of the amendment.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows:
1. Section 2 of the Agreement entitled “Compensation” is hereby amended to increase the total compensation by $79,153, for a total amount not to exceed $699,189; and
2. Exhibit A of the Agreement entitled “Scope of Services & Compensation” is hereby amended as attached to Amendment No. 1; and
3. Amendment No. 1 to the Agreement is approved and execution by the City Manager is authorized; and
4. That the City Manager is authorized to take all actions and execute all documents necessary to affect the purpose and intent of this Resolution.
