IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO
RESOLUTION NO. 2026-XXX
RESOLUTION TO APPROVE AND AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A NONPROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH GARLAND/DBS, INC. FOR THE FIRE STATION #10 ROOF REPLACEMENT PROJECT FOR $860,118; TO NEGOTIATE AND APPROVE CUMULATIVE CHANGE ORDERS UP TO 4.5% OR $38,705.31 OF THE ORIGINAL CONTRACT AMOUNT FOR A TOTAL NOT-TOEXCEED AMOUNT OF $898,823; AND TO APPROPRIATE $273,823 IN CARRYOVER FUND FROM FISCAL YEAR 2025-2026
WHEREAS, the scope of services and compensation schedule for roofing repair services at Fire Station #10 from Garland/DBS, Inc., have been presented to this City Council; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is familiar with the contents thereof; and
WHEREAS, change orders to respond to unexpected conditions are a normal aspect of public contracting and construction; and
WHEREAS, to deliver high-quality public works projects on schedule and within budget, the Council finds that authorizing the approval of Change Orders is in the best interest of public health, safety, and welfare; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends the execution of said non-professional service agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows:
That execution of the non-professional service agreement with Garland/DBS, Inc. for Fire Station #10 roof replacement project in the amount of $860,118 is approved and execution by the City Manager is authorized; and
That the City Manager or her designee is authorized to negotiate and execute change orders up to
4.5% or $38,705; and
That the City Council hereby approves the appropriation of $273,823 in FY 2026 carryforward funds to FY 2027; and
That the City Manager is authorized to take all actions and execute all documents necessary to effect the purpose and intent of this Resolution.
