ORDINANCE NO. 2022-8977
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
MARCOS NAMING THE PARK AT THE HIGHLANDS DEVELOPMENT AS “LAS ABEJAS PARK” WHEREAS, City Council policy #90-3392 sets forth the procedure to name municipal facilities; and WHEREAS, the intent of that policy is to designate public parks facilities, and other municipal amenities in a systematic fashion which promotes public awareness and use of these facilities; and WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Commission, after receiving name recommendations created a sub-committee to further review and prioritize those suggested names, discussed the issue at their December 15th, 2021 meeting and recommends that the Highlands Development area park be officially designated as “Las Abejas Park.” NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of San Marcos, hereby officially designates the community park in the Highlands Development as “Las Abejas Park”.
