RESOLUTION NO. 2022-8983
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS DELEGATING AUTHORITY TO THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE SB 1383 LOCAL ASSISTANCE GRANT PROGRAM GRANT AND ALL RELATED DOCUMENTS TO RECEIVE FUNDING WHEREAS, the Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) is making available funds for FY 2022 in furtherance of the State of California’s efforts to effectively implement SB 1383; and WHEREAS, this funding is to be used to assist with the implementation of regulation requirements associated with SB 1383, including but not limited to: Capacity Planning, Collection, Edible Food Recovery, Education and Outreach, Enforcement and Inspection, Program Evaluation/Gap Analysis, Procurement Requirement, Record Keeping; and WHEREAS, the City of San Marcos is eligible for an allocation in the amount of $127,328; and WHEREAS, staff recommends appropriation of the maximum allocation of said grant funds to the Fiscal Year 2021-22 Operating Budget for eligible expenditures.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of San Marcos, that authority is hereby delegated to the City Manager to accept and execute the SB 1383 Local Assistance Grant Program grant as well as any related documents, and to appropriate awarded grant funds to the Fiscal Year 2021-22 Operating Budget.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that these authorizations are effective for five years from the date of adoption of this resolution.
