RESOLUTION NO. 2022-9008
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING LETTERS OF SUPPORT FOR FUNDS FOR A FUTURE INTEGRATED SCIENCES AND ENGINEERING BUILDING AT CALIFORNIA STATE UNIVERSITY SAN MARCOS (CSUSM) WHEREAS, San Marcos is home to an award-winning school district, Palomar College and California State University San Marcos serving one of the largest student populations in North County; and WHEREAS, California State University San Marcos (CSUSM) has requested the City Council of the City of San Marcos send letters to Representatives Issa and Representative Levin to request additional funding support from the Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies Subcommittee for the construction and build out of the Integrated Sciences and Engineering Building at CSUSM; and WHEREAS, This new Integrated Sciences and Engineering Building will be a training ground for future engineers, scientists, inventors, computer programmers and tech-minded entrepreneurs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council approves sending letters of support to Representatives Issa and Representative Levin requesting additional federal funding for a new CSUSM Engineering building.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of San Marcos at a regular meeting thereof, this 26th day of April 2021, by the following roll call vote:
