Have been appointed but not served in different commissions and boards. I was interested, but circumstances did not allow me to serve. I am a permanent resident now in San Marcos, and want to do what I can.

In terms of climate action, I currently teach high school Chemistry and have a long term vision in terms of what will be good for our students as well as the city when it comes to climate plans. As for the other boards, I have served in different work groups and committees related to the teaching profession through the teacher association and understand processes and what it means to work collaboratively with the goal of consensus when possible and democratic processes.

The city is building rapidly with many chages. As we have more buildings, residents, business, and visitors, I want to see sustainable growth. With more drivers, I think additional traffic checkpoints (lights, stop signs) will ensure that current residents, visitors, and newcomers feel comfortable getting around the city.

Additionally, as traffic will potentially be impacted, I hope to see more information about safety surrounding bike riding and how pedestrians can manage getting around. One of the biggest things related to that currently in my mind is adding more lights on Twin Oaks road for people walking down that street at night. There are large stretches in between San Elijo and Double Peak School where there are no lights.

It is a work group that will always present recommendations. Although there are no final decisions, there is an end goal and a product that is formed as a result of the meetings that are held. This is a group of action and results, which is something I like seeing in my government. I am invested in the city as I hope to be a long term resident, especially with all the good things we are seeing around.
