RESOLUTION NO. 2022-9061
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS AWARDING A CONTRACT TO BRAUN NORTHWEST, INC. FOR THE PURCHASE OF TWO (2) TYPE III RECHASSIS AMBULANCES AND SUPPORT EQUIPMENT.
WHEREAS, the City Council approved the fiscal year 2022-2023 Adopted Budget, which includes funding for the purchase of two (2) type III rechassis ambulances, and associated support equipment, as part of the Vehicle & Equipment Replacement Fund schedule; and WHEREAS, the San Marcos Fire Department has prepared specifications for two (2) rechassis type III ambulances and associated support equipment; and WHEREAS, the purchase of two (2) rechassis ambulances will help maintain a standardized fleet of modern up-to-date ambulances and extend each ambulance’s years of service; and WHEREAS, the te City’s Purchasing Ordinance, Section 2.30.110 of the San Marcos Municipal Code, and the California Government Code, empower the City to acquire equipment from vendors through competitive bid; and WHEREAS, Staff seeks to procure the ambulance utilizing the cooperative purchasing program of Houston-Galveston Area Council of Governments (H-GACBuy). H-GACBuy has competitively bid and entered into a contract with Braun Northwest (Bid No. AM 10-20) for the purchase of emergency vehicles, including ambulances; and WHEREAS, Braun Northwest, Inc. is also the original manufacturer of all ambulances in the Department’s ambulance fleet, which, in addition to price, is one of the Department’s determining factors in selecting Braun Northwest, Inc. for the ambulances; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that:
The City Manager or his designee are hereby authorized and directed to engage in the above-described program for the purchase of two (2) 2023 rechassis type III ambulances as specified by the San Marcos Fire Department.
