RESOLUTION NO. 2022-9075
APPROVE AND AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER OR DELEGATED DESIGNEE TO NEGOTIATE, FINALIZE, AND EXECUTE A PURCHASE AND FINANCING AGREEMENT AND ALL RELATED DOCUMENTS WITH NTH GENERATION COMPUTING, INC. AND HEWLETT-PACKARD FINANCIAL SERVICES COMPANY FOR A COMPREHENSIVE FIREWALL SYSTEM, PALO ALTO NETWORK (PAN) Whereas, the City of San Marcos (City) desires to replace the existing firewall system to safeguard against cyber-attacks; and Whereas, a proposal was received through the National Joint Powers Alliance cooperative purchasing program for the installation of firewall hardware and software; and Whereas, City staff has reviewed the functionality of the improvements that will be made with the selected proposal and has determined that the selected proposal offers the best value to the City; and Whereas, the City finds that Nth Generation and Hewlett-Packard Financial Services and licensed installers and service providers meets all cooperative purchasing requirements set forth in the City’s purchasing ordinance and identified needs of the City; and WHEREAS, the funds for this improvement have been appropriated within the approved Fiscal Year 2022-23 Operating Budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of San Marcos hereby approves and authorizes the City Manager or Delegated Designee to negotiate, finalize, and execute a purchase and financing agreement and all related documents with Nth Generation Computing, Inc. and Hewlett-Packard Financial Services Company for a comprehensive firewall system, Palo Alto Network, not to exceed $415,000 for the term of the agreement.
