The only deep pool we have is Palomar College so swim and water polo teams from the college and both high schools share the pool. Dive teams have to travel to Carlsbad to practice. Something similar to Alga Norte would be very beneficial to the public and school district. #6#6

It's unclear to me if this indicates an expansion of Double Peak K-8 - if so, I strongly support this. The population is exploding in the area with many young families moving in and there's not enough space in the classrooms to accomodate. The entire Rancho Tesoro community should be zoned to Double Peak.

I’m not sure what the specific plan is but today at the corner of E Barham Ln and La Moree Rd there are only 6 homes when this area could provide 10X as much housing in the same space. This land is well positioned next to a Sprinter stop and bus stops that will likely increase in frequency in the coming decades. This is a perfect property to remove parking minimums for. #14#14

This property was originally purchased as commercial property by my father about 50 years ago. We have had it for sale for almost 2 years and although have plenty of interest, the current mixed-use zoning has been a deterrent for every potential buyer, making this seemingly valuable property worthless, as no one will invest in a mixed-use lot at this location. As the ONLY vacant lot on this block, it is the only lot that this mixed-use zoning would apply, as there are no other new developments in the foreseeable future. As a block with well established commercial and retail business on a busy street, this is no place for residential units. We have paid taxes and kept this property maintained for decades, and would now like to reap the benefits of the investment made by my father years ago to pass on to our children and grandchildren. A vacant lot is of no use to us or the development of the city. I implore the Planning Commission and city to change this zoning to commercial use so this property can be developed as a valuable asset to the city.

Currently live here, and I agree with the Low - Medium Density Residential Housing fits the categorization. I do have a comment on land designations near the light rail stations. I wish more of the land use designations near the light rail stations were residential, in order to make efficient use of the light rail system of NCTD. It's one of the reasons why where where I live, it's a bit challenging to catch the rail so I use the bus then train. Hoping using the train won't be hard to access for folks, particularly folks of color, to use safely.

This parcel as well as the entire Vallecitos Village Center is a hub for the students of Cal State San Marcos. Excited the zoning change will allow more use to the center. Coffee or maybe a bar, karaoke, some electric chargers.
