RESOLUTION NO. 2023-XXXX
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR THE CITY HALL ELEVATOR UPDATES CAPTIAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM PROJECT (CIP NO. FC016), AND DELEGATING AUTHORITY TO THE ACTING CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE, FINALIZE, AND EXECUTE THE CONTRACT WITH 24 HOUR ELEVATOR.
Whereas, the City is required to maintain reliable and accessible elevators as an employer and a commercial real estate landlord; and Whereas, City staff has determined substantial upgrades to all elevators at the City Hall complex are required to significantly extend the usable life of the elevators and buildings and meet modern code regulations; and Whereas, the City Hall Elevator Updates Capital Improvement Program Project (CIP No. FC016) was created to address the matters mentioned above; and Whereas, IDS Real Estate Group, acting in its capacity as the City’s real property management consultant and on the City’s behalf, has publicly advertised a request for proposal which yielded no responses, and has subsequently solicited an informal request for proposals which yielded one response; and WHEREAS, the proposal from 24 Hour Elevator has been reviewed by IDS Real Estate Group as the City’s Property Management provider and by City staff, and has been determined to meet the needs of the elevator upgrade work.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of San Marcos hereby awards a contract to 24 Hour Elevator in the amount of $684,612 for the City Hall Elevator Updates Capital Improvement Program Project (CIP No. FC016), and delegates to and authorizes the Acting City Manager to negotiate, finalize, and execute contract documents.
