RESOLUTION NO. 2023-XXXX
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO PERMIT PRELIMINARY DESIGN EXPLORATION WORK AT SAN ELIJO HILLS PARK WHEREAS, the City of San Marcos (“City”) is the owner of San Elijo Hills Park, Assessor’s Parcel Numbers 223-041-06, 223-041-09, and 223-041-10; and WHEREAS, the City proposes to evaluate a proposal from the San Elijo Hills Homeowner’s Association and the San Elijo Hills Foundation to provide private funds towards the construction of improvements, enhancements, and amenities at San Elijo Hills Park; and WHEREAS, preliminary planning, design, and exploratory field work is necessary to determine the feasibility and proposed locations of such improvements; and WHEREAS, the permitting and performance of such work will contribute to the City’s goals of good governance and planning for the future; and WHEREAS, such efforts may result in the development of construction drawings for City Council consideration of the proposed improvements to the public facility and maintenance responsibility for the same.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of San Marcos, California, as follows:
Authorize the City Manager to evaluate proposals for privately funded improvements to San Elijo Hills Park and to engage with the project advocates in their pursuit of feasibility and planning studies, planning-level design plans, and community outreach efforts, and construction drawings.
