RESOLUTION NO. 2023-9228
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS AWARDING A CONTRACT TO REINHART CORP. DBA AAIR PURIFICATION SYSTEMS, INC. FOR THE PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF VEHICLE EXHAUST REMOVAL SYSTEMS AT VARIOUS FIRE STATIONS AND ONE RESERVE BUILDING AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE CONTRACT AND ALL RELATED DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, the San Marcos Fire Department prepared vehicle exhaust systems specifications and required criteria for four (4) fire stations and a reserve building; and WHEREAS, three (3) proposals were received by the City through the public Request for Proposals for Vehicle Exhaust Removal Systems in conformance with San Marcos Municipal Code Chapter 2.30, of which two (2) responses were deemed to be responsive and responsible; and WHEREAS, City staff evaluated proposals and has presented its recommendation that the City Council award a contract to Reinhart Corp. dba Aair Purification Systems; and WHEREAS, the purchase and installation of vehicle exhaust systems for each fire department location and the reserve building where vehicles are parked will mitigate and greatly reduce exposure to harmful pollutants; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of San Marcos does hereby award a contract to Reinhart Corp. dba Aair Purification Systems, Inc., for the purchase and installation of comprehensive, turnkey vehicle exhaust removal systems at various fire stations and one reserve building, and that the City Council further authorizes the City Manager to finalize and execute said contract and all related documents, and to expend funds from the approved budget in an estimated amount not to exceed $407,000.
