RESOLUTION NO. 2023-9215
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR EDIBLE FOOD RECOVERY PROGRAM MANAGEMENT AND RELATED SERVICES TO SOLANA CENTER FOR ENVIRONMENTAL INNOVATION, AND DELEGATING TO AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO FINALIZE AND EXECUTE THE SAME Whereas, Solana Center for Environmental Innovation (Solana Center) is currently providing services relating to edible food recovery program efforts for the City of San Marcos (City) as part of an existing contract; and Whereas, funds under the current contract will be exhausted in or about October 2023; and WHEREAS, work being performed by Solana Center is currently underway, and it would be efficient and expedient to have Solana Center continue the work on the City’s behalf, rather than to start anew with a different service provider, to ensure required work is performed timely; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of San Marcos does hereby authorize and delegate authority to the City Manager to finalize and execute a sole source agreement for edible food recovery program management and related services, to Solana Center for Environmental Innovation, for a period of five years in an amount not to exceed of $550,000.
