RESOLUTION NO. 2024-XXXX
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS APPROVING AMENDMENT TO THE CIP PROJECT BUDGET FOR THE ANNUAL SURFACE SEAL PROJECT (CIP #ST001) Whereas, construction documents for the Annual Surface Seal Project (CIP #ST001, “Project”) have been substantially completed; and Whereas, the Project improvements will include pavement repair, construction of intersection signal improvements, new buffered bike lane striping, and surface seal on portions of Twin Oaks Valley Road between Del Roy Drive and the northerly City limits on Twin Oaks Valley Road; and WHEREAS, the City of San Marcos desires to complete the construction of the Project in an expeditious manner; and WHEREAS, on June 27, 2023, by resolution 2023-9167, City Council delegated and authorized the City Manager to award the contract and execute the applicable contract documents to facilitate the expeditious and orderly construction of the Project; and WHEREAS, on June 27, 2023, by resolution 2023-9168, City Council delegated and authorized the City Manager to award the contract and execute the applicable contract documents for the Citywide ADA Infrastructure Improvement Project (CIP #ST009); and WHEREAS, a contract for CIP #ST009 was not awarded, and the project limits for CIP #ST001 and CIP #ST009 overlap; and WHEREAS, the construction bid for the Project was let on March 26, 2024 and included an option to construct the accessible ADA improvements depicted within the plans for CIP #ST009; and WHEREAS, staff recommends that the improvements previously contemplated to be part of CIP #ST009 instead be constructed as part of CIP #ST001, necessitating the amendments to the Capital Improvement Program budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of San Marcos does hereby approve amendment of the Fiscal Year 2023-24 Capital Improvement Program budget for CIP #ST001, as shown in the attached exhibit.
