Currently I serve as the Chief Operating Officer for a mission driven company that I am also a Founding Managing Partner. Previously, I was afforded the opportunity to lead a Foundation and owned a nationally recognized event production and consulting company. I've also been appointed to various boards and commissions including the City of San Diego's Human Relations Commission as well as County of San Diego Community Action Partnership Board. Along with raising over $3M in private investment to start my current company that is on track to gross $4M in revenue in 2023, business and brand development, social enterprise and marketing have been some of my additional roles no matter the company or industry. Most recently I wrote a grant to the D epartment of Rehabilitation to further enhance our
economic develo
pment initiative for people with special needs in the area with other local businesses.

As a business owner in San Marcos that serves, and supports, the community as a whole, I receive a variety of feedback and inquiry from customers, ranging in both age and demographic, about the City efforts and initiatives. These topics range from capital improvement projects to business initiatives for small businesses to community enhancment and development projects.

I would be honored to serve the community utlizing my expereinces in business and civic engagement.

I currently work in the Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Arts department with the City of Encinitas. In this role, I develop programs and coordinate projects with the limited budget allocated for events.

I would like to see additional city courses made available at our community and senior centers. This would improvement enrollment and increase word-of-mouth among residents, and also prompt non-residents to enroll in our programs - generating more revenue for the city.

I look forward to providing my perspective on how we can eliminate unnecessary costs, make San Marcos United States Senate 01/22 05/22

Some programs I would like to see improved and implemented are the teaching of different cultures and ethnicities and how to respect and learn about them in schools and communities. This could help our school community due to the students understanding different types of people more and their needs. It will also help everyone become more socialized and improve synergy. I could help make this happen as a member on the city council due to my ability to plan, coordinate, and collaborate with others to create a strategy to implement these teachings into all student's lives.

To me, the most interesting aspect of this commission is that young students like me, who want to see the world become a better place for everyone, are able to have their voice heard in the community. They are able to make a difference by working with city representatives to build a new road to a place that is kinder, safer, more welcoming. That will eventually lead to a revolutionizing society that never breaks people down.

Instead, they will build each other up by working, learning, and growing together in hopes of letting their community flourish in culture, friendship, and technology.

Thank you, Madame Mayor and council members for the opportunity to have a chance to have a voice in our community in which I’ve grown up and loved. My name is Atharva Jadhav and like all of you, my appreciation for this city is abounding and I am proud to live here, a community where everyone is welcomed.

I believe that being on the Youth Commission can help execute one's ideas on how to help the youth thrive, for they are the people of tomorrow. I hope that the youth here are supported at all times and the Youth Commission can make this happen. If I’m on the commission, I will bring forward and execute ideas to make the youth feel supported in our community. For example, one idea we can execute is a spirit day where students can make crafts for one another to express their appreciation for them - much like teacher appreciation day but for students! Simple acts like these are vital in creating a sense of belonging in the school environment. They allow us to build a community that feels a sense of family that supports one another and builds upon one another.

Moreover, over the past few years, I have learned carefully the skills needed to succeed as a member of the Youth Commission, through several sources. I gained these skills by participating in my school lighthouse team, Rising Sun Mentorship, where I tutored younger students to heighten their math skills, and observing my sister, Nikita’s, path, following not the same things she did but instead learning from and combining her experiences to draw my own path.

I know that I can be a valuable asset in making our youth feel a stronger sense of community and belonging, with the unique traits I bring to the commission. I’m always open to learning and I am good at analyzing a situation and understanding the problem.

My versatility allows me to respond to these issues, and so I always lead with kindness and dedication; I work hard no matter what environment I’m in. This was recognized when I was 1 of 2 students in my grade to earn the Rising Sun award of 2024.

Also, I understand that I may be younger than most applicants, and while some may assume that this makes me more naive, I strongly believe that my younger perspective offers not a barrier but a strength in bringing new, unique ideas to the table.

All in all, being on the Youth Commission will allow me to not only represent my classroom peers but use the tools available to me through the commission to give a voice to and support my peers. I love this city because it welcomes everyone, no matter their background. I hope to ensure that this continues by making our youth feel welcome and like they belong. On the commission, I hope to aid you in benefiting the entire San Marcos community. Thank you for your time.

I would like to see more involvement within the many communities and minorities, as well as the differing age groups within the city. I would also like more programs that involve youth and different people.

I think that being able to have a more deeper understanding of the city and how it functions will allow for me to gain more experience and I think that this w ill be a good experience for someone despite being the age that I am.

I am an active member of many clubs that help me collaborate with fellow students, such as Gen She club, Filipino Culture Club and K-pop Club. These help me understand the perspectives and opinions of the youth in our city because of how they want to see change in both our school and our community. I have also grown to understand what gets youth motivated to get involved and collaborate.

I would like to see our youth want to be more involved in our city and get to know our city more. As someone who is a part of this city, I wish I could have known more about our city and what it has to offer me.

Therefore, I hope to help others get involved and learn more about our city.

The most interesting aspect is getting to meet new people and getting to collaborate with others. I also love the aspect of wanting to get our youth involved and being able to gen involved within my city. I have always been passionate about meeting new people and helping my community, so I see this as an amazing opportunity for myself to get involved.
