RESOLUTION NO. 2024-XXXX
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, CALIFORNIA, RESCINDING A RESOLUTION 2007-6932 AND SUBSEQUENT MODIFICATIONS THERETO ESTABLISHING THE SAN MARCOS CREEK SPECIFIC PLAN OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE Whereas, Resolution 2007-6932 established the San Marcos Creek Specific Plan Oversight Committee, modified by Resolution 2017-8298, for the purposes of monitoring the implementation of the San Marcos Creek Specific Plan; and WHEREAS, the City intends to comprehensively revise the San Marcos Creek Specific Plan; and WHEREAS, since its adoption in 2007, limited redevelopment has occurred within the San Marcos Creek Specific Plan; and Whereas, the San Marcos Creek Oversight Committee did evaluate and make recommendations regarding potential limitations and revisions that should be made to the San Marcos Creek Specific Plan; and WHEREAS, the City has received a Housing Acceleration Program grant for purposes of revising the San Marcos Creek Specific Plan; and WHEREAS, the City intends to include and lead community outreach on the San Marcos Creek Specific Plan revisions; and Whereas, implementation since the plan’s adoption has been limited, leading to limited need of the San Marcos Creek Oversight Committee; and WHEREAS, a re-envisioned San Marcos Creek Specific Plan will develop a new vision for the area with input from the community, building on direction provided by the Oversight Committee consistent with the City’s procedures for implementation of specific plans.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Marcos, California, does hereby resolve and order as follows:
Section 1. Resolution 2007-6932 and subsequent associated resolutions establishing and modifying the San Marcos Creek Specific Plan Oversight Committee is hereby rescinded.
Section 2. Staff is directed to evaluate other potential avenues to incorporate input from existing bodies regarding the revisions to future updates to the San Marcos Creek Specific Plan.
