RESOLUTION NO. 2025-XXXX
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS APPROVING CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS FOR THE FIRE STATION 3 AUXILIARY BUILIDNG (CIP# FC006) AND AUTHORIZING THE SAME FOR BID Whereas, construction documents for the Fire Station 3 Auxiliary Building Project (CIP# FC006) have been prepared; and WHEREAS, a prior bid and contract thereon approved in 2021 for the Fire Station 3 Auxiliary Building Project (CIP# FC006) were unsuccessful as the selected contractor did not timely perform, leading to contract termination, and because efforts to resolve the resulting contract termination and related surety issues have taken an inordinate amount of time, the bid and contract amounts have likely significantly increased over those approved in 2021; and Whereas, the City desires to authorize the letting of bids to obtain current cost amounts for the project to facilitate construction of an auxiliary building at the Fire Station 3 site and associated work; and WHEREAS, the City desires to re-initiate the process to construct said improvements based on current construction and related costs, with any associated increases in such costs adduced during such process to be brought back to the City Council for action if and as needed prior to contract award.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of San Marcos as follows:
The foregoing recitals are true and correct; and
The construction documents for bids for the Fire Station 3 Auxiliary Building (CIP# FC006) are approved and authorized for bid.
