CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Jones called the City Council Meeting to order at 3:00 p.m.

ORAL COMMUNICATIONS
David Pauley spoke in support of the construction of fire station #5 and the importance of public safety.
Sharon Jenkins spoke in support of the construction of fire station #5 and the importance of public safety.
WORKSHOP – FIRE STATION #5 PLANNING WORKSHOP
CITY MANAGER BENDER, FIRE CHIEF BARRON AND FINANCE DIRECTOR APAR provided a summary of proposed fire station project, actions taken and further options for consideration.
AUSTIN WHEELON, PCL CONSTRUCTION, provided a comprehensive presentation on a variety of project delivery methods for city council consideration.
CITY COUNCIL DISCUSSION INCLUDED: clarification of estimated project costs noting special safety building construction considerations and frontage improvements, planning process collaboration with development services, current station and call time needs, projected construction timelines, clarification of progressive design build project management process, quality control and input during process, clarification of the use of economic opportunity funds, Measure Q fund impacts and impact to other city improvement projects, public safety needs, loan repayment policy and timeline, and maintaining community trust of public Measure Q resources.
BY CONSENSUS THE CITY COUNCIL APPROVED THE USE OF THE PROGRESSIVE DESIGN BUILD PROCESS AND THE USE OF ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY FUNDS FOR THE FIRE STATION #5 PROJECT.

Mayor Jones adjourned the meeting at 3:44 p.m.
