I just completed my first session of VetMed camp at UC Davis, in which I was accepted from a wide range of applicants. I am musically inclined, love the arts, play multiple musical instruments and am determined to become a veterinarian.

I would like to participate in Summer Camp selection and offerings. There aren't many options in Southern California for future veterinary students. I had to travel all the way to UC Davis and I would like to see these programs available to San Marcos students too.

I'll be able to be a voice for my community, school, and fellow musicians.

I have been a part of a Cross Country program for more than two years. I have also participated in organized youth activities through my temple and am currently a SEMS Web leader for this academic year.

These experiences have helped grow my interest in leadership and helping my community.

I would like to implement school athletics into city events. Additionally, I would like to increase volunteer opportunities for youth in the community. Finally, I would like to include sports themed events for residents and businesses.

Aspects that interest me about this commission is being in a leadership position and helping the community. Integrating sports into the community is something I'm passionate about for this role. This experience would allow me to learn more about San Marcos.

Noble Family Non-Profit 06/09/2023 Present No Office Held Carlsbad Library Volunteering 06/20/2024 Present No Office Held Local Weekly Food Drive 01/21/2022 Present No Office Held San Marcos High School 08/21/2023 06/09/2027 High School Graduate Degree I have experience with public speaking through school presentations and club leadership roles. Additionally, I have worked on peer outreach projects and assisted in organizing student-led events. These experiences have helped me develop strong communication, collaboration, and planning skills.

While community festivals and other social gatherings are crucial for fostering and promoting youth involvement in our society, I think the city should also put more of an emphasis on providing young people with practical skills that will help them in the future.

Particularly for high school students who might not otherwise receive this kind of help, workshops on financial literacy, resume writing, job interview techniques, and college application support would be immensely beneficial.

The most interesting aspect of this commission to me is the opportunity to directly impact youth programs and events by working with both city leaders and fellow students. I'm especially drawn to the idea of assisting in the planning of meaningful activities for teenagers and advancing the general well-being of young people in San Marcos. It's thrilling and empowering to be a part of a group that actively works towards attempting to fit the needs of its citizens. I also look forward to seeing how the Youth Commission can work alongside Parks & Recreation to turn youth-led ideas into meaningful action.
