CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Jones called the City Council Meeting to order at 3:00 p.m.
ROLL CALL:
PRESENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: LEBLANG, MUSGROVE, NUÑEZ, SANNELLA, JONES ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: NONE
ORAL COMMUNICATIONS – There were no requests to speak.
CITY COUNCIL DESIGNATED REPRESENTATIVE(S) (GC §54957.6(a)). Consider appointing City Council’s designated representative(s) regarding City Manager compensation.
CLOSED SESSION
The City Council adjourned to closed session at 3:05 p.m.
PUBLIC EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE EVALUATION [GC Section 54957(b)(1)] and Conference with Labor Negotiator [GC 54957.6]. Evaluation of the City Manager, and conference with the City Council’s designated representative regarding labor negotiations.
CONFERENCE WITH LEGAL COUNSEL- POTENTIAL LITIGATION [GC§ 54956.9 (d)(2), (e)(1), and (d)(4)]. Confer with City Attorney and City Manager regarding potential litigation, two potential actions.
MAYOR JONES reported that by consensus they appointed Councilmember LeBlang as the designated representative.
CITY ATTORNEY PEAK announced the following actions taken in closed session:
Item 2 – The City Council discussed the matter and provided direction to the negotiator with no other reportable action taken.
Item 3 - The City Council discussed the matter and provided direction to the city attorney with no other reportable action taken and on the second matter the City Council discussed the matter and provided direction to the city attorney to waive attorney-client privilege with respect to specific documents with no further reportable action.
Item 4 – One item was added to the agenda with a 4/5 vote pursuant to Government Code section 54956.9 (a)(d)(1) regarding pending litigation, City of San Marcos v. Lin Sulu Pastrana, Trustee of AC One Land Trust and AC Two Land Trust dated March 14, 2021, Superior Court of San Diego County, North County Division, Case No. 37-2024-00018227-CU-EI-NC and discussed the matter regarding a settlement and no further reportable action taken.
ADJOURNMENT – Mayor Jones adjourned the meeting at 5:58 p.m. ________________________________
