RESOLUTION NO. 2025-XXXX
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS AWARDING CONTRACTS TO STERTIL-KONI USA INC. AND SOUTHWEST LIFT & EQUIPMENT, INC., RESPECTIVELY, FOR THE PURCHASE, DELIVERY, AND INSTALLATION OF AN IN-GROUND TANDEM AXLE HEAVY EQUIPMENT LIFT, AND DELEGATING AUTHORITY TO THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE, FINALIZE, AND EXECUTE SAID CONTRACTS AND ANY RELATED DOCUMENTS Whereas, the City of San Marcos desires to contract for the purchase and installation of an in-ground tandem axle heavy equipment lift; and Whereas, in conformance with Section 2.30.110 of the San Marcos Municipal Code (Cooperative Purchasing, Piggyback Procurement), and as a participating agency of the Sourcewell Cooperative Purchasing Program, staff evaluated options for the purchase and installation of the desired equipment, and determined that contracts with Stertil-Koni USA, INC., and its authorized, local dealer and installer, Southwest Lift & Equipment, Inc., represent the most efficient and cost-effective approach; and WHEREAS, staff has recommended that the City Council approve the award of a contract with Stertil-Koni USA Inc. for the purchase and delivery of the lift in the amount of $211,731.29, and a separate contract with Southwest Lift & Equipment, Inc. for installation services in the amount of $271,767.00, for a combined amount not to exceed $483,498.29, and that the City Council authorize the City Manager to negotiate, finalize, and execute saod contracts and any related documents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of San Marcos does hereby approve the award of contracts to Stertil-Koni USA Inc. and Southwest Lift & Equipment, Inc., and does hereby delegate to and authorize the City Manager to negotiate, finalize, and execute the contracts and related documents.
