RESOLUTION NO. 2026-XXXX
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR CITY HALL PARKING STRUCTURE WATERPROOFING WORK AND DELEGATING AUTHORITY TO THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE, FINALIZE, AND EXECUTE THE CONTRACT WITH STRUCTURAL PRESERVATION SYSTEMS.
Whereas, the City is required to maintain reliable and operational facilities for its own operations and as a commercial real estate landlord; and Whereas, City Staff has determined waterproofing work is required in various sections of the parking garage at the Civic Center complex (addressed as 4 Civic Center Drive) to meet safety and contractual requirements (“Project”); and Whereas, the Fiscal Year 2025-26 Adopted Annual Operations and Capital Improvement Program Budget includes the Project in the Real Property Management fund (605); and Whereas, IDS Real Estate Group, acting in its capacity as the City’s real property management consultant and on the City’s behalf, publicly advertised a request for proposal which yielded no responses, and subsequently solicited bids from qualitied vendors per Municipal Code 2.30.060; and WHEREAS, the proposal from Structural Preservation Systems has been reviewed by IDS Real Estate Group on behalf of the City and by City staff, and has been determined to meet the needs of the Project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of San Marcos hereby awards a contract to Structural Preservation Systems in the amount of $675,542 for the Project, and authorizes the City Manager to negotiate, finalize, and execute contract documents.
