RESOLUTION NO. 2026-XXXX
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS APPROVING CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS, AUTHORIZING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BID, AND DELEGATING TO AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO AWARD THE CONTRACT AND TO NEGOTIATE, FINALIZE, AND EXECUTE THE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT DOCUMENTS FOR THE 2026 SURFACE SEAL PROJECT (CIP #ST011) Whereas, construction documents for the 2026 Surface Seal Project (CIP #ST011, “Project”) have been substantially completed; and Whereas, the Project improvements will include resurfacing approximately 21 centerlines of roadways, construction of intersection signal improvements, and new and buffered bike lane striping throughout the City of San Marcos (“City”); and WHEREAS, the City desires to complete the construction of the Project in an expeditious manner; and WHEREAS, delegating to and authorizing the City Manager to award the contract, and to negotiate, finalize, and execute the applicable contract and all related documents will facilitate the expeditious and orderly construction of the Project; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of San Marcos hereby:
Approves the construction documents for bid for the 2026 Surface Seal Project (CIP #ST011); and Authorizes the advertisement for bid for the 2026 Surface Seal Project (CIP #ST011); and Delegates to and authorizes the City Manager to award the contract, and to negotiate, finalize, and execute the construction contract and all related documents with the lowest responsive and responsible bidder for the 2026 Surface Seal Project (CIP #ST011).
