RESOLUTION NO. 2026-____
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS ADOPTING THE CITY’S PY 2026/2027 ANNUAL ACTION PLAN FOR PURPOSES OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDING.
WHEREAS, the City of San Marcos (City) participates in the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program; and WHEREAS, Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds are to be used for the development of viable urban communities, by providing decent housing, suitable living environments, and expanded economic opportunities, primarily for low- and moderate-income persons, and WHEREAS, to receive CDBG funding, HUD requires the City to have an Annual Action Plan which identifies community needs and the planned use of CDBG funding to address those needs; and WHEREAS, the Annual Action Plan must be approved by the City Council annually; and WHEREAS, the Annual Action Plan was made available for public review and comment for a minimum 30-day period, and a public hearing was conducted by the City Council to receive input on the proposed use of CDBG funds; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of San Marcos adopts the attached PY 2026/2027 Annual Action Plan for CDBG funding purposes, approves submitting the plan to HUD, and authorizes the City Manager to sign all appropriate certificates of said Plans and execute all documents related thereto.
