RESOLUTION NO. 2026-XXXX
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR ARCHITECTURAL ASSISTED SERVICES AND DELEGATING AUTHORITY TO THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE, FINALIZE, AND EXECUTE THE CONTRACT WITH SAFDIE RABINES ARCHITECTS.
Whereas, the City is required to maintain facilities in safe, good and accessible condition as a commercial real estate landlord of the City of San Marcos City Hall building; and Whereas, City Staff has determined a refresh of common areas is required in the City Hall building, which is utilized by City Staff, commercial tenants, and visitors of the building; and Whereas, as part of the common areas refresh, architectural assisted services are needed to ensure the work is done in line with approved plans and within approved budgets; and Whereas, The Fiscal Year 2025-26 Adopted Annual Operations and Capital Improvement Program Budget includes the associated architectural-assisted services within the Real Property Management fund (605); and Whereas, IDS Real Estate Group, acting in its capacity as the City’s real property management consultant and on the City’s behalf, has publicly advertised a request for proposal yielding one response; and WHEREAS, the proposal from Safdie Rabines Architects has been reviewed by IDS Real Estate Group on behalf of the City and by City staff, and has been determined to meet the needs of the architectural assisted services work.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of San Marcos hereby awards a contract to Safdie Rabines Architects in the amount of $264,760 for architectural assisted services, and authorizes the City Manager to negotiate, finalize, and execute contract documents.
