Subject: Reconsideration of August 4, 2025 Sewer Service Determination – Santa Fe Flores 46-Unit Condos (GPA25-0001)
Dear Ms. Cluff,
This letter serves to formally rescind the Buena Sanitation District’s (BSD) correspondence dated August 4, 2025, regarding sewer service availability for the proposed Santa Fe Flores 46-unit condominium project located at S. Santa Fe Avenue and Las Flores Drive in the City of San Marcos.
Upon further evaluation, BSD has determined that it will proceed with offering sewer service to the Santa Fe Flores project. This decision is based on consideration of the historic project timeline and minor impact to BSD’s downstream system capacity. In addition to meeting BSD’s requirements and LAFCO approval, the project shall provide a proportional cost-share contribution towards capacity improvements as previously discussed with the applicant.
Please note that this determination is exclusive to the Santa Fe Flores project and does not establish a precedent for other projects located outside the BSD jurisdictional boundary within the City of San Marcos. Future requests for sewer availability can only be considered once BSD realizes progress on securing necessary easements to construct planned downstream capacity improvements.
