CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Jones called the City Council Meeting to order at 3:00 PM.

ORAL COMMUNICATIONS
There were no public comments.
SAN MARCOS BLUE ZONES PROJECT UPDATE
CITY MANAGER BENDER provided a brief introduction of the item and introduced the Blue Zone project team.
MARGARET BROWN AND AMELIA CLABOTS, BLUE ZONES PROJECT TEAM provided a project overview, well-being snapshot and preliminary value projection report and Blue Zone partnership options presentation.
CITY COUNCIL DISCUSSION INCLUDED: clarification of the number of communities participating in Blue Zone projects, range of the data and study of the Power 9 commonalities, survey results and response rates, demographic data of survey results adjusted for statistically balanced data, survey geographic data availability, clarification of the risk behaviors and diseases for San Marcos, school district and other private industry interest in pursuing further participation in the project, clarification of Vida Immerse projects and corporate certifications, safe routes to school and e-bike opportunities, no city funded projects currently scheduled, no public funds used to support the initial assessment, clarification of the timeline and events, clarification of the potential General Plan implications, and sustainability measures post project.

Mayor Jones adjourned the meeting at 4:21 PM.
