RESOLUTION NO. 2026-XXXX
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR CITY HALL COUNCIL CHAMBERS RENOVATIONS, AND DELEGATING AUTHORITY TO THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE, FINALIZE, AND EXECUTE THE CONTRACT WITH FLOW BUILDERS Whereas, the City owns and operates the City Hall building (1 Civic Center Dr) and is responsible for all maintenance and upkeep of the public facilities therein; and Whereas, the City Council Chambers is an essential public facility used for broadcasted City Council meetings and public hearings, as well as commission meetings, and other public meetings required by law; and Whereas, several broadcast components within the Council Chambers are well past their useful life, have components that are obsolete, and require replacement to maintain a safe and functional facility, as well as continue to reliably broadcast public meetings as required by law; and Whereas, IDS Real Estate Group, acting in its capacity as the City’s real property management consultant and on the City’s behalf, has publicly advertised a request for proposal yielding 3 bids; and WHEREAS, the proposal from Flow Builders has been reviewed by IDS Real Estate Group on behalf of the City and by City staff, and has been determined to meet the needs of the Council Chambers renovations work.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of San Marcos hereby award a contract to Flow Builders in an amount not-to-exceed $1,000,000 for the City Hall Council Chambers renovations project, and authorizes the City Manager to negotiate, finalize, and execute contract documents and further authorizes the City Manager to approve and execute change orders within the budget appropriated by the City Council.
