RESOLUTION NO. 2026-XXXX
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS AWARDING TWO CONTRACTS FOR ON-CALL TRAFFIC ENGINEERING SERVICES TO CHEN RYAN ASSOCIATES, INC. AND DELEGATING AUTHORITY TO AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE, FINALIZE, AND EXECUTE THE CONTRACT AND RELATED DOCUMENTS WHEREAS, the City requires the services of an on-call consultant to provide support for traffic engineering review and design, data collection, and transportation system design and support; and WHEREAS, on May 12, 2025, City staff released a Request for Proposals for the above work in conformance with San Marcos Municipal Code Chapter 2.30; and WHEREAS, seven proposals were received and reviewed by the proposal review committee; and WHEREAS, the staff proposal review committee recommends Chen Ryan Associates, Inc as the most qualified consultant to provide the required services; and WHEREAS, staff recommend that City Council approve the award of two five-year contracts, each in an amount not to exceed $1,000,000.00 to Chen Ryan Associates, Inc., one for local and state-funded projects and one containing provisions required for federally funded projects.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of San Marcos does hereby approve the award of two five-year contracts with Chen Ryan Associates, Inc., each in an amount not to exceed $1,000,000.00, one for local and state-funded projects and one containing provisions required for federally funded projects. and hereby delegates to and authorizes the City Manager to negotiate, finalize, and execute the contract and related documents.
