A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS APPROVING THE PHASE 2 CORKY SMITH GYM HVAC UPGRADES PROJECT AGREEMENT WITH TRANE U.S. INC., AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE, FINALIZE, AND EXECUTE ALL ASSOCIATED CONTRACT DOCUMENTS AND CHANGE ORDERS WITHIN THE APPROVED PROJECT BUDGET APPROPRIATION Whereas, on April 14, 2026, the City Council approved Equipment Purchase Agreement No. 7823 with Trane U.S. Inc., executed through the OMNIA Partners Cooperative Purchasing Program pursuant to Section 2.30.110 of the San Marcos Municipal Code (Cooperative Purchasing/Piggyback Procurement), for procurement of the major HVAC equipment serving the Corky Smith Gym HVAC Upgrades Project and the adjacent Boys & Girls Club; and WHEREAS, the proposed Phase 2 Corky Smith Gym HVAC Upgrades Project Agreement with Trane U.S. Inc. provides the construction services necessary to install, test, and commission the HVAC equipment previously purchased under Phase 1 Equipment Purchase Agreement No. 7823; and WHEREAS, the total amount of the Agreement shall not exceed $1,225,000, with funding appropriated in the Facilities Replacement/Rehabilitation Fund (603); and WHEREAS, staff recommends that the City Council approve the Phase 2 Corky Smith Gym HVAC Upgrades Project Agreement with Trane U.S. Inc. in an amount not to exceed $1,225,000 and authorize the City Manager to negotiate, finalize, and execute the Agreement and associated contract documents, amendments, and change orders within the City Council-approved budget appropriation for the Project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of San Marcos hereby approves the Phase 2 Corky Smith Gym HVAC Upgrades Project Agreement with Trane U.S. Inc. in an amount not to exceed $1,225,000, and authorizes the City Manager to negotiate, finalize, and execute the Agreement and associated contract documents, amendments, and change orders within the City Council-approved budget appropriation for the Project.
