RESOLUTION NO. 2026-XXXX
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS AWARDING A CONTRACT TO MUSCO SPORTS LIGHTING, LLC FOR THE CITYWIDE SPORTS LIGHTING LED RETROFIT PROJECT, CIP NO. PK013, THROUGH SOURCEWELL COOPERATIVE CONTRACT NO. 041123-MSL, AND DELEGATING AUTHORITY TO THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE, FINALIZE, AND EXECUTE THE CONTRACT AND ALL RELATED DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, the City desires to modernize existing sports lighting systems at Connors Park, Hollandia Park, Las Posas Community Park, Mission Sports Park, San Elijo Community Park, and Sunset Park as part of the Citywide Sports Lighting LED Retrofit Project, CIP No. PK013; and WHEREAS, in conformance with Section 2.30.110 of the San Marcos Municipal Code (Cooperative Purchasing, Piggyback Procurement), staff evaluated the use of Sourcewell Cooperative Contract No. 041123-MSL for the procurement and installation of sports lighting improvements and determined that Musco Sports Lighting, LLC represents an efficient and cost-effective approach; and WHEREAS, the total contract amount is not to exceed $2,525,000, and funding for CIP No. PK013 is provided through a California State Parks grant; and WHEREAS, staff has recommended that the City Council approve the award of a contract with Musco Sports Lighting, LLC for the Citywide Sports Lighting LED Retrofit Project, CIP No. PK013, in an amount not to exceed $2,525,000, and authorize the City Manager to negotiate, finalize, and execute said contract and any related documents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of San Marcos does hereby approve the award of a contract with Musco Sports Lighting, LLC, through Sourcewell Cooperative Contract No. 041123-MSL, for the Citywide Sports Lighting LED Retrofit Project, CIP No. PK013, in an amount not to exceed $2,525,000, and does hereby delegate to and authorize the City Manager to negotiate, finalize, and execute the contract and related documents.
