AMENDMENT NUMBER ONE TO THE AGREEMENT
BY AND BETWEEN THE CONSOLIDATED FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT OF LOS
ANGELES COUNTY AND THE CITY OF SAN MARINO FOR PARAMEDIC SERVICES This Amendment Number One is made and entered into this _____ day of _____________, 2024, by and between the Consolidated Fire Protection District of Los Angeles, hereinafter referred to as the “FIRE DISTRICT” and the City of San Marino, hereinafter referred to as the “CITY”.
RECITALS
WHEREAS, the FIRE DISTRICT and the CITY entered into an Agreement (Agreement No. 78638) on March 21, 2017, for the CITY to provide emergency medical services to the FIRE DISTRICT on a reimbursable basis; and
WHEREAS, the FIRE DISTRICT and the CITY mutually desire to amend the Agreement to modify terms related to the Payment; and
WHEREAS, Amendment Number One is authorized by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles on March 21, 2017, to make future modifications to the Agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, IN CONSIDERATION of the promises, covenants, representations, and agreements set forth herein, the parties mutually agree as follows:
SECTION III. PAYMENT:
1. Paragraph A, the paragraph shall be deleted and replaced with the following:
CITY shall be compensated for the dispatch of paramedic services provided to the FIRE DISTRICT AREA, whether medical aid was rendered or not, at a rate of $552.16 per incident effective January 1, 2024.
2. Paragraph B, the paragraph shall be deleted and replaced with the following:
CITY shall be compensated for the dispatch of paramedic services provided to the FIRE DISTRICT AREA which includes an additional Advance Life Support (ALS) Cardiac Arrest Bundle for cardiac incidents when Autopulse resuscitation device -2-

(Autopulse) is deployed at a rate of $1,220.92 effective January 1, 2024.
3. Paragraph D, the third sentence shall be deleted and replaced with the following:
Documentation shall indicate whether the incident will be billed at the per incident rate or the AutoPulse rate.
4. Paragraph E, the first and second sentences shall be deleted and replaced with the following: The per incident rate and the Autopulse deployed rate shall be adjusted each year to reflect the current rate for the CITY’s paramedic services. No later than October 31 of each year, CITY shall notify the FIRE DISTRICT of the CITY’s per incident rate and the Autopulse deployed rate for the then current calendar year in writing, and the CITY’s billing submitted by March 31 to the FIRE DISTRICT will reflect the adjusted rates for the closing calendar year (for example, rates submitted to the FIRE DISTRICT in October 2023 will be used to invoice the FIRE DISTRICT in March 2024 for the 2023 calendar year).
5. All other terms and conditions of the Agreement shall remain the same and in full force and effect.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have caused this Amendment to be executed by their duly authorized officers on the date first written above.
