30 Irrigated turf in parkway strip. Turf is right up to trunk of tree. Having turf this close often means regular damage by mowing equipment. There is also a brick/hardscape area in the parkway likely installed once the tree was already there.
This species has been doing poorly in the area overall. While some specimens remain healthy, those subjected to drought stress or excessive pruning have shown significant decline.
The decay and die back in the canopy put the tree at high risk of failure.
Recommended to remove and replace.

50 Tree had been growing in irrigated turf. The grass has always appeared to be very green so likely watered too frequently for an oak tree.
The irrigated turf right up to the trunk likely contributed to decline of the tree.
Tree is dead.
Recommended to remove and replace. Keep grass at least 12" away from trunk of replacement tree.
