Description of General Fund Costs
The installation of storm drain trash capture filters will be phased in over a multi-year period, and is proposed to be funded entirely using money from Measure W Safe Clean Water Funds, with no impact to the General Fund. This is the continuation of a program for the installation of trash capture filters in drainage inlets citywide. This program helps to improve stormwater quality to ensure compliance with regulations from the State Water Board. The City has approximately 78 catch basins that require the installation of a screen to prevent trash and other objects from entering into the storm drain system and polluting the stormwater.
