BACKGROUND
On October 25, 2024, the City Council awarded a Construction Agreement to G2 Construction, Inc. for the purchase and installation of catch basin trash and debris capture devices, as part of the Trash Capture Filters Capital Improvement Program Project No. 46-8026. As the project is now complete, City Council approval is required in order to accept the work and authorize staff to file a Notice of Completion with the Los Angeles County RegistrarRecorder/County Clerk.

DISCUSSION
The installation of catch basin trash and debris capture devices began on December 9, 2024, and was completed on December 20, 2024. The project included the installation of devices in thirty-eight (38) City-owned catch basins, to help capture litter and trash down to 5 mm in size, to prevent debris from entering the storm drain system and eventually reaching waters such as rivers, creeks, and the Pacific Ocean. The installation of these devices assists the City in complying with State Water Resources Control Board (SWCRB) Gretchen Shepherd Romey, Mayor
Tony Chou, Vice Mayor
Hunter Chang, Council Member
John Chou, Council Member
Calvin Lo, Council Member
requirements for stormwater quality and implementation requirements for stormwater quality and implementation requirements to control trash. The project was completed to the satisfaction of the City Engineer, all punch list items were resolved, and the one-year warranty period covering the work has commenced.

FISCAL IMPACT & PROCUREMENT REVIEW
The final construction cost was $98,762. Therefore, the project was completed within its budgeted amount of $100,000. This project will be paid for exclusively with Measure W Safe Clean Water Program Funds (Account # 246- 46-4600-8026), with no impact to the City’s General Fund.

Procurement review is not applicable.

LEGAL REVIEW
The City Attorney's office has reviewed and approved as to form.

RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the City Council accept the FY 24-25 Storm Drain Trash Capture Filter Program Project No. 46-8026 as complete and authorize the City Clerk to file the Notice of Completion. If the City Council concurs, an appropriate motion would be:
“I move to accept the FY 24-25 Storm Drain Trash Capture Filter Program Project No. 46-8026, performed by G2 Construction, Inc. as complete and authorize City staff to file the notice of completion.”
