Rich Anthony
Foundation Manager The San Marino Unified School District ("SMUSD") receives over $2,500 LESS Kathryn Oliveros per pupil in State education funding compared to the California Statewide Trustees average ($5919 less than LA Unified!). Due to this systemic shortfall, local funding Grace Kim Austin is necessary to pay for the excellent education we expect for our students in San Julianna Balicka
Andrew Chan Marino. With support from donors, the non-profit San Marino Schools Foundation Alvin Chen
Charles Chien ("Foundation" or "SMSF") provides more than $2 million per year to the SMUSD Beth Davis to pay for 20 full-time teaching positions across its four campuses creating Jennifer Dill Kamal
Tessa Furtado-Chung reduced class sizes and increased program offerings. High quality schools are a Huang
Fom Koch cornerstone of San Marino's reputation and are a major contributor to the San Lindsey MacFarlane Marino real estate market, which enjoys some of the highest valuation in Los Grace Mellis

Maurice Saldebar Proposal to City Council
Annie Shih
Emily Vitan The SMSF Board of Trustees requests that the San Marino City David Wang Council appove the installation of personalized, San Marino Alex Watlington
Daisy Wilson Schools Foundation banners on upwards of 150 street lights along Alisa Joy Yingling
ryant Yun! Huntington Drive. This campaign, which has been done the past nine years, has allowed us to thank major donors, while showing continued support to the San Marino Unified School District.

In order to reach our fundraising goal of $2.4 million, the Foundation is seeking to continue recognizing our major gift contributions from businesses and individuals during our 2024-2025 Annual Campaign. We know that our ability to prominently recognize major donors helps encourage greater levels of donation and, in many respects, is appropriate given the significant role donated funds play in the budget of our renowned school district. To continue this exciting tradition of recognition, we propose to install light pole banners identifying major donor businesses and families as "proud supporters of" our schools. 1665 West Drive

VP Administration
Dominic Hansa The Foundation proposes that the banners be placed on street lights starting April VP Fundraising 1, 2025 and remain posted until June 15. The Foundation will continue to bear the Leanne Chu
cost of printing high quality banners that are in accordance with the city's existing Treasurer
Toby Hsieh hardware standards and banner installation requirements and asks that the City of secretary
San Marino continue to help with installation of the banners. During the previous Rich Anthony
Foundation Manager several years' campaigns SMSF has consistently had over 150 banners to Kathryn Oliveros display. We are looking forward to having just as many generous donors to thank Trustees this year.

Grace Kim Austin
Julianna Balicka
Andrew Chan Thank you in advance for your consideration of our proposal. We believe the Alvin Chen
Charles Chien banners are an important tool in helping the Foundation achieve its fundraising Beth Davis goals, and are in keeping with current practices of installing banners in support of Jennifer Dill Kamal
Tessa Furtado-Chung community members and organizations including the Crowell Library, San Marino -athy Huang
om Koch Military Members, the Chinese Club of San Marino and the City itself. Our Lindsey MacFarlane exceptional schools require the support of our community, and the major donors Grace Mellis
Palak Pathak that help us fill the funding gap deserve to be recognized.
