The salary of the shared Division Chief position is meant to be split 50-50 between the two Cities (with some exclusions, see Section F.5 of the attached agreement). Hi Jennifer,
After discussing with Chief Riddle, we have determined that Chief Szenczi did not have any shared fire command for FY 2022‐23. However, we did identify that there was some South Pasadena Fire Staff time that was shared with San Marino for FY 2019‐20 and FY 2020‐21. Attached is the invoice for the Shared Fire Staff, the breakdown on the calculation with supporting information, and the Cooperative Agreement for reference.
Regarding the errors that were identified, we did a deep analysis on the January 2022 – June 2022 Shared Fire Command that Chief Szenczi did. We identified the overcharges that were made and will issue a refund back to San Marino. The total amount for the overcharge is $ 11,934.07. Attached is the spreadsheet showing the calculation to reflect how the amount was determined.

I know last year our finance department found a few errors that were too late to correct prior to the close of our fiscal year. Prior to forwarding the invoice can you ensure that overtime pay and any pay for Chief Szenczi working out of position (E91, FSO, etc.) are not included?
