As one of the support groups for the Crowell Public Library since 1995, the San Marino Public Library presents a variety of activities to supplement the funding needed for future capital and technological needs.
Delicious Destinations is one of our standing fundraising events. We last presented this event in 2024. Our plan is to present the next Delicious Destinations on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at 6pm in the Crowell Public Library. We will transform the library into our themed destinations of Greece and the South of France. Event attendees will be able to roam about the first floor of the library and the outside patio while sampling food and beverages representing our themed destinations. The fundraising components of the evening will include a silent auction, a paddle raise and opportunity drawings to further raise funds.
The event will utilize the full first floor of the library including all the reading areas, Barth Community Room, Life Long Learning area as well as the outdoor patio area. The Foundation will work with the City liaison to walk through the areas to be utilized for the event and how the will be used.
Delicious Destinations will be marketed and advertised to the San Marino community and Foundation donors. We are working with our City liaison to be included in the Community Services Guide; will request placement of banners in front of the library, library courtyard and on West Drive parking lot access; will request inclusion in community social media communications and in-library displays to promote the event. Additionally we will work to get awareness in the San Marino Tribune, local school and community organization communication distributions and local businesses and a combination of social media outlets.

SAN MARINO PUBLIC LIBRARY FOUNDATION

The Foundation is excited to present Delicious Destinations again as a community wide event.
We have been fortunate to aid in the funding of the RFID system, new computers, audio/visual equipment upgrades and augment the current collection at the Crowell Public Library. We have high hopes that this event will provide another opportunity to support the library.
The San Marino Public Library Foundation would like to partner with the City of San Marino for a co-sponsorship of our upcoming Delicious Destinations event on April 18, 2026.
Following are some of the in-kind services we would like the City to consider:
City staff time - assistance with setup and breakdown of event particulars if staff and hours are available.
Permit fees - waive any applicable permit fees.
Event promotion - work with City media services to promote the event through social media, weekly newsletters, Community Services Guide advertisements and library media communications.
Facility Rental - waive facility rental fees.
Catering Kitchen at Community Center - use of kitchen for the event.
The Foundation would like the opportunity to use the library logo and City seal on communications.
Additionally, the San Marino Public Library Foundation will make a request to the City Council to close the Crowell Public Library on Friday, April 17 and Saturday, April 18 in order to decorate and prepare for the event. The library will be reset and ready for public use at Ipm on Sunday, April 19.
