Dear Mr. Figueroa,
Thank you for the opportunity to provide our cost proposal for building inspection services for the Huntington Library Expansion Project, as well as related support services to San Marino’s Community Development Department. The m6 Consulting, Inc. (m6) team is a boutique engineering firm that provides complete building and safety support services, including plan check, inspection, and building official support services to municipal and higher education clients Statewide.
m6 plan review services include fire and life safety, accessibility, civil, structural, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, disabled access, public improvement, and transportation/traffic plan review for encroachment permits. Our team also supports municipalities with civil and structural design, project and construction management, city engineering, grant writing and capital improvement project design and programming. m6 staff members’ current and past roles as plan reviewers, building officials, city engineers, inspectors, design engineers and permit technicians provide for a skilled and knowledgeable delivery of building plan review services to the City.
Description of Fees
Based on our understanding of the City’s current request for dedicated inspection support for the Huntington Library project, m6 proposes the following:
Task 1: Construction Inspection
A dedicated m6 ICC inspector will be assigned to support the Huntington Library Expansion Projects. m6 inspectors will provide inspection services for field verification of code compliance and consistency with the requirements of the approved plans. m6 inspectors will maintain project files for inspectors' use for all aspects of project documentation be kept in an organized, protected, and available for reference to the City at any time. An estimate of 25 hours per week for one year is assigned to this task. This task is allocated a budget of 1300 hours at $115 per hour, for a total estimate of $149,500.00.
Our fee schedule has been provided as Exhibit B, which includes the above staff rate, as well as rates and fees for supplemental building department support services should these be requested by the City. m6 Consulting, Inc.
