Building Security Code – Ordinance Adoption
RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt an Ordinance to add Section 23.54. 025 "Secured Building Access for Emergency Personnel" and Section 23.54.035 "Video Surveillance Systems to Chapter 23.54 "Building Security Code." BACKGROUND:
On November 6, 2023, City Council introduced the attached proposed ordinance (Attachment 1) to add Section 23.54. 025 "Secured Building Access for Emergency Personnel" and Section 23.54.035 "Video Surveillance Systems to Chapter 23.54 "Building Security Code." If adopted, this ordinance will be effective 30 days after its adoption.
BUDGET IMPACT:
There is no projected fiscal impact resulting from these amendments if adopted and would be absorbed by already funded staff time.
ENVIRONMENTAL DETERMINATION:
This ordinance introduction is not a project subject to CEQA, because it is an organizational or administrative activity that will not result in direct or indirect physical changes in the environment. (CEQA Guidelines Section 15378(b)(5).)
