Structural Engineering Professional Services Proposal

We are pleased to present our proposal for structural engineering services for the above- mentioned project located at the intersection of San Mateo Drive and East 5 th Avenue in San
Mateo, California. This proposal is between ZFA Structural Engineers (Consultant) and the City of San Mateo (Client) and provides structural engineering services for Construction Documents through Construction Administration. Our proposed project scope is based on our Condition Assessment Report dated June 9, 2023.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The proposed project consists of repairs to an existing one-story parking structure with a tennis court on the upper level. ZFA completed a previous evaluation in 2020 and recommended a monitoring program be implemented to evaluate existing cracks in the structure and document new and/or increased damage. A subsequent assessment was completed in early June 2023, and additional damage was observed, and conceptual repairs were recommended. The structural scope of work includes design of the following repairs at the lower level of the structure, as documented in our Condition Assessment Report:
x Design of new steel columns to provide secondary support at:
o Grid G between grids 3 & 4
o Grid G between grids 5 & 6
o Grid J-8
o Grid 9 near grid E-9 (inc luding beam between posts)
o Grid D between grids 5 &6
x Design of spalling repairs at peri meter piers in multiple locations. x Design of cracking and spalling repairs at vehicular entrance.
