RESOLUTION NO. ____ (2023)
AUTHORIZING A BUDGET APPROPRIATION OF $288,942.50 FROM THE TREE REPLACEMENT FUND TO THE
PARKS AND RECREATION CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT TREE PLANTING FUND FOR CITYWIDE TREE
PLANTING SERVICES
WHEREAS, the City Council is awarding a contract for the Citywide Tree Planting Services Project in the amount of $262,675.00, plus a 10% contingency of 26,275.50, concurrently with this resolution; and WHEREAS, an appropriation of $288,942.50 from the Tree Replacement Fund to the Parks and Recreation Capital Improvement Project Tree Planting Fund is necessary to fund the contract for tree planting services.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MATEO, CALIFORNIA, HEREBY FINDS AND RESOLVES that:
1. This budget appropriation and the associated tree planting is categorically exempt from CEQA as an “existing facility,” because it consists of the operation, repair, maintenance, permitting, leasing, licensing, or minor alteration of existing public or private structures, facilities, mechanical equipment, or topographical features, involving negligible or no expansion of use. (CEQA Guidelines Section 15301.)
2. The budget appropriation in the amount of $288,942.50 from the Tree Replacement Fund (015-0194) to the Parks and Recreation Capital Improvement Project Tree Planting Fund (610008) is approved.
