Mental Health Awareness Month and Community Wellness and Crisis Response Team - Presentation RECOMMENDATION:
Receive an informational presentation from the San Mateo Police Department's Community Wellness and Crisis Response Team.
BACKGROUND:
The San Mateo Police Department's Community Wellness and Crisis Response Team is comprised of specially trained staff including licensed mental health clinicians who work alongside police officers and focus on de-escalating certain high-risk emergency calls and provide compassionate and proper care for individuals experiencing a mental health crisis. Staff will provide an informational presentation to include a description of duties, roles, and desired outcomes, which will include statistical data regarding outreach efforts.
BUDGET IMPACT:
There is no budget impact associated with this informational update.
ENVIRONMENTAL DETERMINATION:
This informational update is not a project subject to CEQA, because it is an organizational or administrative activity that will not result in direct or indirect physical changes in the environment. (CEQA Guidelines Section 15378(b)(5).)
