NEW BUSINESS
1. Planning Commissioner – Interviews
The Appointment Subcommittee for the Planning Commission, comprised of Mayor Lisa Diaz Nash, Deputy Mayor Rob Newsom Jr., Council Member Adam Loraine and Council Member Amourence Lee, with Planning Manager Manira Sandhir advising will interview the following applicants to fill one vacant seat on the commission and to establish an eligibility list for a future vacancy: Vikash Bhagwandin, Heather Damelio, Phil Mieszkowski, Michael Ross, Adam Klafter, Jennifer Kim, Dianne Whitaker, Alexander Seroff, Elizabeth Kioa, Sergio Zygmunt Public Comment: Public comment was provided in support of candidates for the vacancy by Gene Alston, Laurie Watanuki, Lisa Vande Voorde, Tom Lease, Frank Elliot, and Jordan Grimes.
Following the interviews, the appointment subcommittee deliberated. A consensus direction was provided to recommend to the City Council that Adam Klafter be appointed to the Planning Commission for a full-term beginning June 17, 2024, through June 10, 2028, and place Dianne Whitaker and Jennifer Kim on the eligibility list for six months, should another vacancy on the Commission occur.
