TRAFFIC HUB? POLICE
The San Mateo Police Department is seeking feedback from the community as we explore converting a former fire station for our use.
The former Fire Station #25 on Barneson Avenue would become the new San Mateo Police Department's Traffic Unit Substation.
The location is ideal for a designated Traffic Unit substation as it provides several routes to all corners of the city. Alameda de las Pulgas provides access north and south, and Highway 92 can provide east and west access for us.
This more centralized location will allow us to better utilize response times to traffic related issues anywhere in the city.
This building would not operate as a replacement for our headquarters on Franklin Parkway or for reporting crime. If you need to report crime, 911 or our non-emergency number, (650)522-7700, remain the most effective way to do so.
